Job summary

Watco seeks a conductor/engineer to control and coordinate train movements while switching railcars in yards, industrial plants, or similar locations to service our customers in a safe and efficient manner. This is a manual labor role that requires proficiency in switching operations during a prescribed training period.

Responsibilities include reading switching orders, following signals, coordinating with the crew and dispatcher, and performing related duties to maintain smooth yard operations

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass training and required testing.
• Basic math skills and ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate predictable, reliable attendance and complete tasks on schedule.
• Read and interpret switching orders and communicate switching information.
• Supervise train crews and operate locomotive per railroad rules and signals.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading of railcars and coordinate with dispatchers and crew.
