Job summary

Silvi Materials is looking for a Railyard Operator/Maintenance Mechanic in Bristol, PA to support rail yard operations and maintain production equipment. You’ll start up overhead loading gear, coordinate car orders, and perform daily checks with a safety and environmental focus.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of industrial maintenance experience, knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and experience with electrical panels, welding, and heavy equipment such as loaders and

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in steel fabrication and welding preferred.
• Experience with electrical panels and machinery.
• Experience in maritime, shipping port, dock, or cement/concrete industry preferred.
• Knowledge of motors and operation preferred.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and schematics.
• Willingness to put in extra hours when necessary.
• Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA safety regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Start up operations for overhead gantry loading equipment.
• Coordinate rail car orders and loading sequence.
• Instruct deliveries on unloading procedures.
• Maintain inventory of railcar load quantities and BoLs.
• Daily checks of loading equipment and routine checks.
• Minimize environmental impact of loading equipment.
• Maintain safe practices while handling, maintaining, and operating equipment.
• Use of proper PPE.
• Follow management directions.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Operate heavy equipment including front-end loaders and forklifts.
• Work hours as directed for vessel unloading.
