Job summary

Rail Modal Group is seeking an Operations Associate to support rail and yard operations, ensuring efficient cargo flow and safe handling of materials. You will coordinate train movements, verify inventory, and operate heavy equipment while maintaining daily housekeeping.

This role supports the Yard/Rail, Transload, Reefer, and related departments as needed, documents container information, follows safety procedures, and helps with loading and unloading tasks in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members in person and on radios.
• Capable of working in all weather conditions and handling physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate train and cargo movement by following management instructions.
• Perform daily housekeeping and ensure area cleanliness.
• Verify train inventory and document container information using tablets.
• Receive and execute train switching instructions from operations.
• Complete outbound paperwork for each train.
• Operate heavy equipment and assist with loading/unloading tasks as needed.
