Job summary

Silvi Materials is seeking a qualified Railyard Operator/Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in Bristol, PA. The role covers railcar order coordination, loading/unloading procedures, and ongoing maintenance of production and related equipment.

The position supports a broad range of mechanical and electrical systems in a dynamic port/rail context. Responsibilities include startup of loading equipment, inventory control, daily checks, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in steel fabrication and welding preferred.
• Experience with electrical panels and machinery.
• Maritime/port or cement/concrete industry experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and schematics.
• Willingness to work extra hours when necessary.
• Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Start up operations for overhead gantry loading equipment.
• Coordinate rail car orders and devise loading sequences to meet customer expectations.
• Instruct incoming deliveries on off-loading procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory of railcar load quantities and BoLs.
• Perform daily checks of loading equipment and routine checks in operation.
• Minimize environmental impact of loading equipment.
• Maintain safe practices in operation and handling of equipment.
• Use and comply with PPE and safety procedures as directed by management.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Work with conveyors and other aggregate handling equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery including front-end loaders and forklifts.
• Perform physical labor with lifting up to 50–100 lbs.

Position Essential Functions Responsibilities

Rail Yard Responsibilities

• Start up operations for overhead gantry loading equipment.
• Coordinate rail car order, and devise loading sequence to meet customer expectations.
• Instruct incoming deliveries on procedures for off-loading.
• Maintain accurate inventory of railcar load quantities, maintain record of BoLs associated.
• Prepare and execute daily checks of loading equipment, along with routine checks while in operation.
• Minimize environmental impact of loading equipment.
• Maintain and use safe practices while handling, maintaining, and operating equipment.
• Use of proper PPE.
• Follow procedures, and directions as presented by management

Terminal Mechnaic Responsibilities

• Work hours as directed for vessel unloading.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Experience with conveyor systems and other aggregate handling equipment.
• Heavy machinery operating, front-end loader, forklift, telehandler, skid-steer, etc.
• Ability to perform physical labor as directed. Lifting up to 50-100lbs.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License.
• At least one year’s experience in industrial maintenance required.
• Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
• Experience in steel fabrication and welding highly preferred.
• Experience in electrical panels and electrical machinery.
• Experience in the maritime, shipping port, dock, or cement/concrete industry highly preferred.
• Knowledge of varied types of motors and their operation highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, using diagram schematics and parts manual highly preferred.
• Must have willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary
• Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, MSHA, as they apply to the operation a plus.

Physical Demands

• Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
