Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Rail Supervisor to coordinate and oversee operations at Rail Yards. The role includes leading maintenance, safety initiatives, and daily inspections, with a focus on maximizing service levels and minimizing costs.

The position requires strong rail/logistics experience, the ability to travel as needed, and a commitment to meeting regulatory and company standards across shifts and sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2-3+ years of leadership experience preferably in aggregates/rail.
• Background in Rail & Truck.
• JDE experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft products.
• Ability to travel domestically as needed.
• Able to perform essential functions and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment.
• Ensure daily pre/post-shift inspections and maintain maintenance logs.
• Promote safety and implement value-adding improvements.
• Coordinate rail transfers and customer deliveries to optimize service and costs.
• Serve as liaison between logistics and sales; build cross-functional relationships.
• Identify opportunities to improve rail loading/unloading productivity and fleet efficiency.
• Support contracting with rail carriers and manage freight-related data in TMS.
• Train staff and ensure compliance with regulatory and company rules.
