Job summary

Jaguar Transport Holdings is seeking a conductor/engineer to control and coordinate train movements, switching railcars in yards or industrial sites to support loading and unloading in a safe, efficient manner. This is a manual labor role requiring practical training and on-the-job proficiency.

Responsibilities include inspecting locomotives, following railroad rules, communicating via radio, performing switching operations, and maintaining records of cars and cargo.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have or have had 49CFR242 and/or 49CFR240 qualifications.
• At least 1 year of related experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to pass training and required testing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate predictable, reliable attendance and follow directions.
• Read, write, and communicate in English; understand basic math.
• Inspect locomotive before run to verify fuel and FRA requirements.
• Read switching orders and follow railroad rules and signals.
• Operate locomotive controls to switch and couple cars; communicate via radio.
• Maintain records of cars switched, origin, destination, and cargo.
• Perform switching operations and coordinate with crew as needed.
• Walk and inspect equipment, report major repairs.
• Perform other duties as requested or required.
