Job summary

Watco is seeking a conductor/engineer to control and coordinate train movements while switching railcars at yards, plants or similar sites to load and unload safely. The role is a manual labor position requiring proficiency in listed duties and a prescribed training period.

Expect on-the-job training, adherence to railroad rules, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment as you support operations across locations. English literacy and basic math are needed to interpret orders and signals.

• Must pass training and required testing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates predictable, reliable attendance.
• Reads switching orders and follows directions to complete tasks.
• Reads and interprets signals and operates locomotive according to rules.
• Coordinates activities of switching crews and communicates via radio.
• Inspects equipment and maintains records of cars switched.
• Performs other duties as requested or required.
