Job summary

Watco is seeking a conductor/engineer to control and coordinate train movements while switching railcars at yards, plants, or similar facilities to service customers safely and efficiently. This is a manual labor role requiring completion of training and certification to operate locomotives.

The position emphasizes reliability, adherence to signals and instructions, and collaboration with dispatchers, crew, and management to maintain schedules and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass training and required testing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.
• Read, write, and communicate in English; understand basic math.
• Read switching orders from designated person.
• Supervises and coordinates the activities of train crews.
• Operates locomotive in accordance with railroad rules and regulations.
• Keeps records on cars switched and cargo.
