Job summary

Railserve is seeking a physically active transloader to support daily rail and material handling operations in an active industrial environment. You will work around railcars, locomotives, loading equipment, and customer materials while safely performing transloading and rail support activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Strong attendance and dependability required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain and climb on rail equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily transloading and rail operations activities.
• Safely move and secure railcars within the facility.
• Operate hand and ground throw switches, derails, and gates.
• Control equipment movement using radio communication, hand signals, and lanterns.
• Apply and release hand brakes to secure equipment.
• Handle air hoses, wheel chocks, and railcar connections.
• Observe tracks and surrounding areas for safety hazards or obstructions.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and material handling activities.
• Support locomotive and switching operations as directed.
• Assist in training new employees as needed.
• Complete operational reports and documentation as required.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Follow company operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform additional operational duties as assigned.
