Jacobs in Chicago seeks a Group Leader/Project Manager for its Rail & Transit practice. You will lead a growing team, manage complex infrastructure projects, and strengthen relationships with transit agencies and clients across the region.

The role blends leadership, project delivery, client engagement, and business growth, offering a path to shape the Chicago rail and transit team and deliver projects improving mobility and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• PE license IL is required.
• 10+ years delivering rail and transit projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring engineers.
• Strong project management skills including scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of rail and transit professionals.
• Serve as a project manager and trusted advisor on complex rail and transit projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with transit agencies, rail clients, and transportation stakeholders in Chicago.
• Support business development activities, including client engagement and strategic pursuits.
• Oversee project performance: scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Partner with regional and national teams to deliver integrated solutions and share best practices.
• Support recruiting, staff development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Foster collaboration, innovation, safety, inclusion, and technical excellence.
