Job summary

GFT in Chicago, IL seeks a Transit & Rail Senior Project Manager to join our Transit & Rail Project Delivery Team. This hybrid role requires regular in-office attendance at our Chicago, IL office and offers the chance to lead complex rail and transit projects.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of PM experience on major infrastructure projects, a PE license, and proven client management skills to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 15+ years progressive experience on major infrastructure projects with significant concentration in T&R.
• PM experience with profitable management of major T&R design projects.
• Experience managing final design projects with teams including employees and sub-consultants.
• Effective client management skills.
• Excellent relationship building and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Design Lead managing client and design-team management of T&R projects.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Plan, organize, and supervise project teams to achieve contract performance.
• Drive scope, cost, and schedule control using project management tools.
• Coordinate and supervise daily the work of all disciplines on large T&R projects.
• Identify project requirements, analyze risks, and align conclusions with client expectations.
• Lead development of design and consultant task orders.
• Advise management on contracts using project data and lessons learned.
• Support program-level deliverables and initiatives.
• Lead improvement and standardization of engineering and construction management task orders.
• Participate in construction and capital program delivery enhancement efforts.
• Facilitate meetings across user groups and technical leads to capture lessons learned.
• Drive new business development and grow client relationships to expand services and revenue.
