Job summary

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is seeking a track maintenance technician in Dallas, TX. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and maintenance of rails, embedded tracks, switches/turnouts, and related infrastructure for DART’s Ways, Structures & Amenities Division.

The technician will diagnose rail issues, perform inspections, operate maintenance equipment, and maintain logs while upholding safety standards and DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical certification in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Pass technical test and maintain required certifications.
• Valid Texas CDL Class-A Restricted within 90 days of employment (see text).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair rails, tracks and related rail services.
• Perform walking track inspections and use track maintenance equipment.
• Maintain material usage logs and work orders.
• Conduct track work tests to meet reliability and safety criteria.
• Communicate with Rail Operation Control while on duty.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
