Job summary

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) invites applications for a Rail Vehicle Maintenance Technician. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain Light Rail vehicles and their subsystems, including propulsion, traction, brakes, HVAC, and doors. You will perform preventive maintenance, component replacement, and re-railing as needed, while following safety and QA programs.

The role requires associated technical education, PC skills, and strong communication abilities to ensure safe, reliable rail service.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical certification in Electronics/Mechanical Technology required.
• Strong PC skills including MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Light Rail vehicle systems including propulsion, traction, brakes, HVAC, and doors.
• Perform preventive maintenance and replace failed components.
• Work on the main line during service with safety procedures in place.
• Conduct Light Rail vehicle re-railing and related tasks.
• Maintain safety and quality assurance programs and procedures.
