Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Lake Superior & Ishpeming Railroad is seeking a Section Laborer in Negaunee, MI to safely perform track maintenance, repair and installation tasks. You will read blueprints, work with hand and power tools, and uphold safety policies while coordinating with crewmates.

The role requires GCOR qualification, a valid driver’s license, TWIC, and the ability to work varying shifts in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• GCOR qualification required or able to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• TWIC credential required (tsa security check).
• Subject to drug and alcohol testing.
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect track for problems or defects.
• Perform track maintenance, repair and installation with hand/power tools.
• Read blueprints, regulations and instructions.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and report safety concerns.
• Work safely around heavy equipment and at heights up to 20 feet or more.
• Provide reliable workmanship and collaborate with teammates and supervisors.
