Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. - Lake Superior & Ishpeming Railroad is seeking a Section Laborer in the Maintenance of Way Department at our Negaunee, MI location. The role focuses on constructing, repairing, maintaining, and dismantling/installing tracks, switches and rights of way using hand tools and equipment.

Safety-conscious and self-driven candidates preferred. The position requires physical tasks, working at heights, and shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma/GED required.
• Must be able to become and remain GCOR qualified.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must obtain and maintain a TWIC (TSA security assessment).
• Position requires random drug and alcohol testing.
• Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States full-time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety, FRA, and company policies.
• Observe and inspect track for defects.
• Perform track maintenance, repair, installation, and rigging of materials.
• Read and understand blueprints, regulations, and instructions.
• Work safely with hand and power tools; general housekeeping.
