Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Rail Systems Design Manager to join our World Class Transit/Rail Team in a hybrid work environment. The role oversees the full lifecycle of rail systems delivery, ensuring alignment with program standards and regulatory requirements.

You will lead a team of engineers and specialists, manage interfaces, and drive process improvements while coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to meet schedule and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in relevant field and 8+ years of rail systems experience.
• Experience managing design and construction in complex rail projects.
• Knowledge of rail disciplines: overhead, signaling, traction power, communications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of rail systems delivery across projects.
• Coordinate design-build interfaces and issue resolution.
• Develop and implement rail systems strategies, policies, and tools.
• Ensure compliance with Rail Operation Rules and industry standards.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to mid-career staff.
• Engage with clients to discuss technical topics and expectations.
• Plan work with scope, schedule, and budget.
