Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Track Engineer to join our transportation team in Chicago, Illinois. This hybrid position offers work in the Chicago office and remote arrangements in accordance with AECOM’s practices.

You will contribute to planning and design of heavy rail transit, light rail transit, commuter rail, freight rail and streetcar systems, coordinating with track, civil, roadway, structural, and rail systems teams to develop coordinated design solutions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience.
• PE license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience with track alignment design and CADD (MicroStation/AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Perform track and civil design for rail and transit projects of varying scale and complexity.
• Develop track alignments, corridor models, plans, profiles, cross sections and related design documentation.
• Coordinate track design requirements with civil, roadway, structural, architectural and rail systems disciplines.
• Assist project managers, deputy project managers and discipline leads with technical coordination, scope, schedule and project delivery.
• Participate in design reviews and quality control processes to support client standards.
