Qualifications

• Experience in railroad signal maintenance or related technical field preferred.
• Ability to learn railroad signal rules, procedures, and technical requirements.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Strong attention to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Clear and professional communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours including nights/weekends.
• Must have or obtain railroad qualifications, certifications, or licenses.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install railroad signal and crossing systems.
• Travel with mobile maintenance crew to various locations.
• Install signal equipment including foundations, masts, signal heads, gates, flashers, and related components.
• Test signal and communication cables per plans and standards.
• Assist with upgrades, relocations, and commissioning of signal systems.
• Perform wiring and equipment installation inside signal houses and related spaces.
• Follow FRA rules, safety procedures, and company standards.
• Travel extensively and work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
