Job summary

Watco is seeking a Signal Maintainer to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and install railroad signal and crossing systems as part of a mobile maintenance crew. The role travels to multiple sites to support safe and reliable operation of signal equipment.

The position emphasizes adherence to safety, quality workmanship, teamwork, and reliability, with opportunities for training and career growth within Watco’s Safety Center and development programs.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience in railroad signal maintenance or related technical field.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documents.
• Willingness to travel extensively and to work nights/hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install railroad signal and crossing systems.
• Work with electrical, mechanical, and electronic components in a mobile crew.
• Follow safety procedures and railroad rules while in the field.
• Assist with system upgrades, relocations, and commissioning of signals and crossings.
• Perform wiring and equipment installation inside signal houses and related structures.
