Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, HSE or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional safety experience in railroad, transportation or construction.
• Direct managerial experience leading a safety team.
• Proven track record delivering practical safety training to operations leaders.
• Active safety network member.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong staff coaching and development history.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and passport; willing to meet pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and support Safety team members in fulfilling consultations for assigned business units.
• Travel to company sites to conduct site audits and deliver safety training.
• Educate senior management on safety trends and best practices within and outside the railroad industry.
• Develop and manage the annual Safety departmental budget.
• Establish and monitor relevant industry KPIs.
• Lead Safety Review Board meetings and follow through on executive requests.
• Lead strategic planning sessions to establish safety awareness themes and training initiatives.
• Facilitate Accident Review Board meetings.
• Identify, develop and implement safety training programs for all business units.
• Participate in business unit planning to influence safety practices and rewards.
