Job summary

Modern Railway Systems, the systems subsidiary of Stacy Witbeck, is hiring a Project Engineer to oversee technical, planning and administrative aspects of East Coast projects. You will liaise between project management and field operations, ensuring safe, on-time, within-budget delivery with emphasis on design and construction of signals, communications, OCS and track.

Qualifications

  • 2-6 years of experience as a Field or Project Engineer on Heavy Civil, Systems or Rail Transit projects.
  • RFI and Submittal creation and tracking.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Bluebeam, MS Office Suites, Teams.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, with fast-paced work.
  • Ability to travel for project needs, corporate events and trainings.
  • Relocation is not available for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Field Engineering: provide on-site technical support and assist in field layout, coordinating construction activities.
  • Document Control & Technical Support: manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings; update project logs.
  • Planning & Scheduling: develop project schedules and 4-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: oversee subcontractors to meet schedule and budget.
  • Cost Control & Quantity Takeoffs: track quantities, cost coding, and material procurement.
  • Quality & Safety Control: ensure work meets plans, safety regs (OSHA) and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting: resolve on-site interface issues and field constraints.
