Job summary

RailWorks Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer to perform field tasks, monitor projects, file reports, confirm manpower, equipment, subcontractor counts, lengths, and quantities completed; and assist the project manager with planning and scheduling for field construction activities.

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction, at least 1 year of construction engineering experience, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of construction industry engineering experience.
• Knowledge of general contract and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, and surveying instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with procurement processes, budgets and cost control methods.
• Thorough knowledge of current industry quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and other data to assist in planning projects.
• Directs or participates in surveying to lay out installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations.
• Interprets design drawings, electrical drawings, specifications, and codes and provides technical support during installations.
• Provides technical support to contractors and reviews documents to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
• Maintains blueprints and field books; prepares final project records.
• Assists in interpreting and resolving questions regarding designs, codes, and specifications.
