Job summary

Railroad Construction Company Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Eastport, NY. This full-time onsite role blends fieldwork with office duties and reports to Project Managers to plan, organize, and execute heavy civil projects.

The position emphasizes safety, quality control, and coordination with crews and subcontractors. A Civil/Construction degree and 5–10 years of相关 experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of construction or engineering experience.
• Willing to travel and work nights/weekends/on-call.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with VISTA, HeavyJob, BlueBeam and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Champion a safety-first culture by actively participating in the implementation and enforcement of the Company's safety program
• Interpret construction drawings and project documents
• Create field sketches and construction details
• Inspect job sites for quality and progress
• Provide technical support to field crews
• Supervise, train and mentor Field Engineers
• Coordinate material deliveries and subcontractors
• Track materials, report progress, and help manage project budgets
• Handle RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
• Attend project meetings and provide updates
• Perform quality control and assurance checks
