Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor in Arkansas. The role oversees the Transportation Department at a site, supervising up to ten employees, hiring and training staff, planning and directing work, and ensuring compliance with company policies and laws.

You will manage safety performance, interface with customers, supervise crews and schedules, and monitor payroll and budgets. The position requires FRA knowledge and an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred).

Qualifications

• Five years of railroad industry experience with supervisory duties.
• Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to ten Transportation employees, align with policies and laws.
• Oversee safety performance, operating practices, and productivity.
• Interface with customers and monitor service quality per contracts.
• Lead crews, scheduling, and personnel management.
• Maintain payroll within targeted budget.
• Conduct efficiency tests and incident investigations.
• Hire, train, and discipline employees per regulations.
• Assist with additional projects and duties.
