$52,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr

As a key member of our supply chain team, the rail coordinator will play a vital role in optimizing our rail operations and maintaining efficient fleet management at ALTIVIA. This role requires proactive coordination with internal teams and external partners to ensure efficient railcar management and seamless logistics. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for optimizing rail operations.

Key Responsibilities

Rail Coordination:

  • Lead MRU callouts and coordinate with plant and Customer Care.
  • Manage interactions with repair shops for maintenance and requalifications (e.g., closures, gaskets, o-rings).
  • Serve as the primary contact for QTS, railroads, lessors, and other rail vendors.
  • Coordinate responses to FRA notices and manage non-standard movements.
  • Oversee QTS track & trace for visibility on hot items and re-bills.

Fleet Management

  • Monitor railcar utilization, compliance, and classification with the QTS fleet coordinator.
  • Manage railcar procurement (leasing, cleaning, on-hire, off-hire, purchase/sale).
  • Track KPIs for dwell time, utilization, and fleet performance.
  • Manage rail storage and service invoicing, collaborating with accounting.
  • Oversee vendor communication and maintain strong relationships.

Data Reporting

  • Track and approve rail invoices, coordinating with QTS and accounting.
  • Collaborate on rail freight accrual data and annual rate updates.
  • Maintain routes in railroad systems and update rate/route master.
  • Monitor railcar demurrage and support order execution with Customer Care.
  • Maintain accurate data flows between all stakeholders.

Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with rail vendors and logistics partners.
  • Facilitate clear communication between plant teams, Customer Care, and external providers.
  • Ensure stakeholders are updated on operational changes, compliance, and maintenance.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with organizational proficiency.
  • Data analysis and Excel skills.
  • Vendor relationship management experience.
  • Problem-solving and proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or business
  • Previous rail or logistics coordination experience

Location: Houston, TX (Downtown)

Salary Range: $52,000 - $65,000 (dependent on experience and may not reach the top end)
