Job summary

Enviva is seeking a Rail Load Out Operator to load rail cars and trucks while ensuring safety and quality in the rail areas. You will perform inspections, monitor equipment performance, and document results to maintain throughput and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of loaders and railcar movers.
  • Inspect equipment and maintain it in good condition.
  • Analyze equipment performance and adjust tooling as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain operational records.
  • Report completion accurately and communicate information as required.
  • Enter maintenance work requests and coordinate house keeping.
  • Serve as a back-up resource and escalate issues promptly.

Job description

The Rail Load Out Operator is responsible for loading all rail cars and trucks scheduled and maintaining quality and safety in the rail areas.

Responsibilities
  • Safe operation of Loaders and Railcar Movers (i.e. Track Mobiles or Locomotives)
  • Perform and document required inspections of equipment and maintain equipment in good condition.
  • Analyze equipment performance and make necessary tooling and equipment changes to produce desired throughput and quality results.
  • Follow all workplace and job safety procedures.
  • Develop and maintain operational records from inspections.
  • Confirm all reporting accurately completed as required.
  • Communicate operational information as required.
  • Enter maintenance work requests as applicable.
  • Perform/coordinate maintenance on equipment per job instructions.
  • Perform/coordinate housekeeping to maintain to required standard.
  • Escalate issues promptly for proper resolution.
  • Perform other duties as required and serve as a back-up resource as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions.
  • Proficient in mathematics and measurement.
  • Team player demonstrated with past work experience or activities.
  • Ability to work multiple shift schedules to support 24x7 operations.
  • Ability to certify in the safe operation of locomotives, loaders or track-mobiles.
Preferred Qualifications - What Sets You Apart
  • High school diploma or GED
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
  • Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
  • Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
