Job summary

Enviva is seeking a capable team member to operate loaders and railcar movers safely, perform inspections, and maintain equipment to ensure reliable throughput in a 24x7 setting.

The role requires math and measurement skills, the ability to follow complex instructions, and a strong safety mindset; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to work multiple shifts for 24x7 operations.
• Able to certify safe operation of locomotives/loaders/track-mobiles.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks.
• Work around moving equipment safely.
• Able to perform essential duties per safety standards.
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate loaders and railcar movers.
• Inspect and document equipment; keep gear in good condition.
• Analyze performance and adjust tooling to meet throughput/quality.
• Follow safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain inspection records.
• Ensure accurate reporting.
• Communicate operations information as required.
• Enter maintenance work requests.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance per instructions.
• Maintain housekeeping to standards.
• Escalate issues promptly.
• Serve as backup and perform other duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe operation of Loaders and Railcar Movers (i.e. Track Mobiles or Locomotives )
• Perform and document required inspections of equipment and maintain equipment in good condition.
• Analyze equipment performance and make necessary tooling and equipment changes to produce desired throughput and quality results.
• Follow all workplace and job safety procedures.
• Develop and maintain operational records from inspections.
• Confirm all reporting accurately completed as required.
• Communicate operational information as required.
• Enter maintenance work requests as applicable.
• Perform/coordinate maintenance on equipment per job instructions.
• Perform/coordinate housekeeping to maintain to required standard.
• Escalate issues promptly for proper resolution.
• Perform other duties as required and serve as a back-up resource as needed.

Requirements

• Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
• Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
• Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
