Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Field Services technician to troubleshoot, install and train customers on Roadway Work Equipment. You will deploy new machines, demonstrate operation on-site, and repair existing equipment at customer locations to restore proper operation.

The role requires a high school diploma and 5+ years as a heavy equipment mechanic, with travel 70–80%. Experience with PLC/CANBus is preferred and associate’s degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 5+ years as an industrial/mobile heavy equipment mechanic.
• Associate’s degree is a plus.
• PLC or CANBus troubleshooting training is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems; able to read schematics.
• Railroad experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recommends repair parts and product improvements to customers.
• Advises and trains customers on proper maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.
• Prepares weekly travel expense records and field reports as required.
• Works with engineering and/or production to solve problems with new machines.
• Contributes to continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
• Ability to work independently and build rapport with customers.
