Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Field Service Technician to troubleshoot and train customers on Roadway Work Equipment, placing new machines in service at customer sites and repairing existing equipment on-site. Travel will be substantial to customer locations.

You will work with Customers and Sales to ensure machines meet expectations, read schematics, and relay maintenance and operation guidance. The role requires driving, problem solving, and strong customer relations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of 5 years of experience as an industrial or mobile heavy equipment mechanic.
• Associate’s degree a plus
• PLC and/or CanBus systems troubleshooting training strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Recommend repair parts and product improvements to customers.
• Advises and trains customers on proper maintenance and operation of Nordco equipment.
• Prepares weekly travel expense records and field reports as required.
• Works with engineering and/or production to solve problems with new machines.
• Makes positive contributions towards the continuous improvement of our equipment and processes.
• Ability to work independently and achieve effective rapport with customers.
