Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Rail Designer/EIT in the United States to support project managers and engineers in developing track and civil design plans, including drainage and utilities tasks. You will help produce criteria, guides, and meeting notes while coordinating with the project team.

The role emphasizes hands-on railroad design experience, proficiency with MicroStation/InRoads/GEOPAK, and an active, employee-owned culture. Local candidates preferred for the Cincinnati area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with MicroStation, InRoads and GEOPAK-route design.
• MS Office Applications experience.
• Strong interest in railroad design.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Take responsibility for civil and track engineering assignments, including drainage, structural and utilities tasks.
• Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager.
• Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
• Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
