Job summary

HDR is seeking a Freight Rail Coordinator/EIT to support rail project managers and engineers in developing track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates across various locations in the United States. This role emphasizes participation in HDR's employee-owned culture and collaboration with project teams.

Key responsibilities include civil and track engineering tasks, design criteria development, and guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with MicroStation, InRoads and GEOPAK-route design.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Preference given to local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Take responsibility for civil and track engineering assignments, including drainage, structural and utilities tasks
• Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager
• Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects
• Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
• Perform other duties as needed
