Job summary

HDR is seeking a Freight Rail Coordinator/EIT to support rail project teams in designing track and civil layouts, preparing cost estimates, and generating design criteria and project guides.

You will work with engineers on drainage, structural and utilities tasks, lead small projects, and mentor junior staff while aligning with HDR's employee-owned culture and commitment to quality in transportation design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Hands-on experience with MicroStation, InRoads and GEOPAK-route design.
• MS Office Applications experience.
• Strong interest in railroad design and active participation in employee-owned culture.
• Preference given to local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Take responsibility for civil and track engineering assignments, including drainage, structural and utilities tasks
• Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager
• Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects
• Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
• Perform other duties as needed
