Job summary

voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak in Birmingham, Alabama, seeks a Designer – Engineering with strong CAD experience to create manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and material specifications using MicroStation, NX, and SolidWorks. You will work under supervision on rail products and support manufacturing teams.

Applicants should have post-secondary engineering education and 3–5 years in a manufacturing setting, with SAP/Teamcenter knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in an engineering discipline is required.
• 3–5 years in engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and ERP systems (NX, MicroStation, SAP).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Produce manufacturing drawings and BOMs per company standards.
• Collaborate with project teams to address design manufacturability issues.
• Support on-time delivery by meeting project milestones and budgets.
• Maintain up-to-date drawings and documentation; perform self-checks before review.
