Job summary

Watco Transloading in Pryor Creek, OK is seeking a Conductor/Switchman to control and coordinate train movements, switching railcars in yards, industrial plants, or similar locations to facilitate safe loading and unloading for customers.

This manual labor role requires reading switching orders, following directions, and clear communication by radio, with on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement through Watco University and leadership programs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass and/or obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications as required
• Demonstrates predictable, reliable attendance
• Reads, writes, and communicates in English; understands basic math

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates predictable, reliable attendance
• Follows written and verbal directions to complete tasks on schedule
• Reads switching orders and coordinates train crews
• Notifies engineer of switching orders and moves cars to specified locations
• Interfaces with dispatcher to coordinate stops and delays
• Operates and assists with switching signals and car movements
• Maintains records of cars switched and cargo
• Communicates switching information by radio or signals
