CPKC is hiring a Conductor in Brownville Jct., Maine to join a Union crew. This foundation role supports train and yard work, with unscheduled shifts, long hours, and outside duties in all weather. The position offers pathways to leadership and ongoing safety training.

Applicants must meet physical requirements, pass medical and safety screenings, and have a high school diploma or GED with a valid driver’s license. Training starts immediately with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable of walking up to 6 miles daily, climbing, lifting up to 80 pounds.
• Able to work unscheduled shifts in a 24/7 environment.
• Must pass safety tests, read and understand rules in English.
• High school diploma or GED required; valid driver's license.

Responsabilités

• Work in train or yard service depending on seniority.
• Carry out instructions detailing a train's route and movements.
• Coordinate switching of cars, including coupling and uncoupling.
• Observe and relay signals affecting train movement.
• Signal crew for engine or train movement via signals or radio.
• Follow GCOR, general orders and bulletins.
• Provide flag protection and relay signals in emergencies.
• Move on/off equipment and complete forms/reports.
• Handle emergencies and operate extinguishers; apply first aid.
