Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) seeks a Conductor in Brownville Jct., Maine. The role supports train and yard movements, observes signals, and follows GCOR and safety procedures. Expect physically demanding tasks, outdoor work in all weather, and occasional long overnights away from home.

Qualifications

• Must perform physically demanding work including walking up to 6 miles daily, climbing, and lifting up to 80 pounds.
• Willingness to work unscheduled shifts in a 24/7 operating environment.
• Work up to 12 hour shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to report within a two hour call window after scheduled rest.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to read/understand safety instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Work in either train or yard service depending on seniority.
• Carry out instructions detailing a train's route and movements.
• Coordinate switching of cars including coupling/uncoupling and lifting out coupling device.
• Observe, interpret, and relay signals affecting train movement.
• Signal crew members for movement via signals or radio.
• Follow GCOR, general orders, and bulletins; maintain safety.
• Provide flag protection and relay signals in emergencies.
• Move on/off moving or stationary equipment.
• Fill out train orders, switch lists, and reports.
• Handle emergencies and operate fire extinguishers; apply first aid.
