Job summary

RailWorks is seeking a Craft Foreman to direct work groups on active railway property and construction zones. You will ensure contractors clear the working zone before a train's approach, using railway rules and procedures to minimize delays in operations.

Based on Florida sites, you will lead safety-conscious crews, perform daily briefings, inspect sites, and coordinate with supervisors and traffic controllers to maintain safe, efficient rail maintenance operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years related railway industry experience.
• Experience with timber bridge repair preferred.
• Track Inspection Guidelines certification is an asset.
• Ability to read schedules, railway plans and specifications.
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive position directing work groups on live tracks.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and railway safety regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient use of computers and tablets.

Responsibilities

• Embrace safety culture and follow company policies and procedures.
• Conducts daily job briefings so contractors understand site instructions.
• Review the work site daily with Supervisor or contractor’s rep.
• Set up, reposition, and dismantle railway signals at designated locations.
• Communicate with crews, flagmen and Rail Traffic Controllers per procedures.
• Operate company vehicles and perform routine maintenance/inspections.
• Perform capital supervisor-assigned special duties.
• Handle related QA documentation per Quality Management System.
