Job summary

RailWorks is seeking a Craft Foreman to direct work groups on active railway property and construction zones. You will ensure crews follow railway rules and procedures, clear working zones before train approaches, and minimize delays to railway operations.

The role requires a minimum of four years in the railway industry, with emphasis on safety, clear communication, and precise documentation. Travel, shifting schedules, and exposure to loud environments are expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related experience in railway operations or construction.
• Experience with timber bridge repair is preferred.
• Track Inspection Guidelines certification is an asset.
• Ability to read and understand schedules, railway plans, and specs.
• Capacity to work in a safety sensitive role directing teams on live railway corridors.
• Strong verbal and written communication; proficient with computers and tablets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate work groups on active railway sites.
• Conduct daily safety briefings ensuring contractors understand site instructions.
• Review sites with supervisors and contractors to identify hazards.
• Set up, reposition, and dismantle railway signals as required.
• Communicate with work groups and Rail Traffic Controllers to ensure clear instructions.
• Operate company vehicles and perform routine inspections and maintenance.
• Perform administrative duties and maintain proper documentation per QMS.
