Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Radiology Technologist to obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations, position patients, and ensure patient safety. The role covers exams in multiple settings with emphasis on image quality and proper documentation.

Responsibilities include scheduling, record-keeping, and collaboration with healthcare providers to support timely exams. Requires ARRT certification and NJ state license, with on-call and weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED; AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office/Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, shielding, selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
• Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather information from the medical record for scanning protocols and patient safety.
• In accordance with ALARA principles restricts radiation beam for safety.
• Performs portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Identifies patient images with correct name/MRN and marks laterality.
• Processes and reconstructs images using available methods.
• Maintains orderly x-ray room and maintains supplies as directed.
• Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists in administering radiopaque mixtures.
• Handles scheduling, patient instruction, record-keeping, and reception duties.
• Performs on-call duties and adheres to department policies.
