Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an X-ray Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations, position patients, and ensure image quality while following safety protocols. The role includes administrative duties, on-call shifts, and collaboration with the radiology team to support patient care.

Required qualifications include an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program, ARRT certification, and NJ state radiology license, with BLS within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills that may include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors.
• Gathers information from medical records and care teams to prepare scanning protocols and ensure patient safety.
• Adheres to ALARA principles and uses safe collimation for all exams.
• Performs portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms and ERs.
• Identifies patient images with correct name and MRN, and marks sides accurately.
• Reconstructs images and maintains x-ray room and supplies as directed by the department head.
• Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists with administration when needed.
• Performs scheduling, patient instruction, and other administrative duties as required.
• Assists patients with mobility on/off x-ray tables and provides patient care assistance per needs.
• Works scheduled shifts including holidays and weekends; on-call as required by Radiology.
