Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Tennessee is seeking a Medical Assistant with radiology responsibilities to perform x-ray testing, develop films, and support the provider with patient care. The role includes taking vital signs, documenting history, and assisting with procedures in a busy urgent care setting.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, and a Tennessee X-ray license; ARRT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification.
• TN State X-Ray License.
• ARRT Certification preferred.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients entering the waiting area, exam room, or radiology room.
• Communicate wait times and guide patients to the next step in care.
• Provide solutions to patient problems and escalate in emergencies.
• Perform timely radiology procedures for evaluation and treatment.
• Document patient history, vitals, medications, allergies, and unit visit details.
• Assist with patient transfers and with procedures supervised by the provider.
• Maintain and report on equipment status and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and protect patients during imaging.
• Complete required clinical documentation for each patient visit.
