Job summary

UNTWN Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform imaging and patient care across diagnostic areas under ARRT guidelines. You will ensure high-quality images, proper exposure, and patient safety while collaborating with the radiology team.

The role requires state licensure in radiography, ARRT certification, and BLS within 30 days of hire, with opportunities for career growth and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• Must possess current Radiography License as required by state board.
• National ARRT certification/registration required by hire.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Rotates in all Diagnostic areas to develop technical skills (Fluoro, Mobiles, Routine, OR, Endoscopy, Orthopedics).
• Performs imaging procedures based on patient status, requests, and protocols.
• Produces high-quality images using imaging equipment and archiving systems.
• Select exposure factors for patient size and condition to optimize image quality and minimize exposure.
• Minimize radiation exposure to self and others with shielding and proper technique.
• Maintain knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to imaging.
• Assess patient needs and provide imaging-related comfort and support.
• Prepare contrast agents and sterile trays as per guidelines.
• Educate patients about radiographic procedures and answer questions.
• Promote team approach and collaborate with staff for patient care.
• Engage in problem solving and system improvements to support quality care.
• Adhere to ARRT ethics, WVUH policies, and Joint Commission guidelines.
• Report equipment failures immediately upon identification.
• Complete in-services and competencies by required dates.
• Position patients accurately per established protocols.
• Assist in coordinating daily workflow and supervising students when applicable.
