Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital in Largo, FL is seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist for PRN/per diem assignments to support night shift coverage. You will perform radiographs to assist physicians with diagnosis while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

You will work as part of a compassionate imaging team, adhere to ARRT standards and MEDITECH documentation, and ensure high-quality images with proper lead markers and patient positioning.

Qualifications

• 2-year or Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Valid ARRT credentials and Florida CRT license.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographs (x-rays) of patients for accurate diagnoses.
• Position patients, protect modesty, and use proper markers and dating.
• Maintain equipment, ensure infection control, and document studies correctly.
• Communicate with radiologists and care team to ensure quality imaging.

Radiology Technologist - PRN/Per Diem

Night shift coverage is needed for this opportunity.

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. You will take radiographs (x-rays) of patients which will assist physicians in diagnoses and treatment and perform procedures accurately and in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner.

Your tasks and responsibilities as a Radiology Tech, or X-Ray Tech, may include:

• You will possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures.
• You will obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated
• You will select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patient and assist in administration of contrast media when indicated.
• You will prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated.
• You will document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time.
• You will maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist.
• You will check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.

Qualifications:

• 2-year or Associate degree
• Valid ARRT credentials
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience, preferably in an acute-care hospital setting
• Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
