Job summary

HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital is seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist for PRN/per diem coverage. You will perform diagnostic radiographs, ensure high-quality images, and support physicians in diagnoses while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include accurate documentation in MEDITECH, proper positioning, and communication with the radiology team. Requires ARRT(R) certification, Florida CRT, and BLS, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a 24-month Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved educational institution
  • Valid ARRT (R) certification
  • Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to perform work requiring standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Take radiographs (x-rays) to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment
  • Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images with proper lead markers and date/time stickers
  • Select proper technical factors and techniques and assist with contrast media when indicated
  • Position patients ensuring modesty and safety with auxiliary equipment and devices
  • Document pertinent clinical information in MEDITECH accurately and on time
  • Maintain communication with patient, radiologist, and care team
  • Keep equipment clean and room stocked to prevent cross-contamination

Radiology Technologist - PRN/Per Diem

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. You will take radiographs (x-rays) of patients which will assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment, and you will perform procedures accurately and in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner. Your tasks and responsibilities as a Radiology Technologist (X-ray Tech) include but are not limited to:

  • Possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures
  • Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated
  • Select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patient and assist in administration of contrast media when indicated
  • Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated
  • Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
  • Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies
Qualifications
  • Completion of a 24-month Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved educational institution
  • Valid ARRT (R) certification
  • Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
