Job summary

South Shore Health System in Massachusetts seeks a Radiologic Technologist to support patient care and imaging, under the Department Manager. Responsibilities include patient identification, preparation, and performing radiographic and fluoroscopic exams.

You will ensure safety, operate radiographic equipment, maintain records, and adhere to radiation protection standards. MA radiography license required; six months experience preferred; CEU upkeep required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved two-year radiography program.
• Six months minimum experience to be proficient.
• MA state RT license or MA RT Temp license.
• Maintain CEU records for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient’s identity.
• Explain and confirm patient’s preparation prior to examinations.
• Examine radiographic requisition for accuracy and completeness.
• Sequence imaging procedures to avoid residual contrast effects.
• Provide patient safety, comfort, and modesty during exams.
• Explain post-procedural instructions to patient or family.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Document radiographic procedures and results.
