South Shore Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform interpretive, patient care and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients under the direction of the Department Manager.

The role includes patient preparation, safety, image production, equipment operation and radiation protection, with emphasis on quality control and documentation in patient records. A MA state license is required, with six months minimum experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved two-year program.
• Six (6) months to be fully proficient.
• RT - Radiography Technology (MA state license) or RT Temp - Radiography Technology Temporary (MA state license).
• Employees must produce their CEU records to their manager prior to start date and on an ongoing basis thereafter.

Responsabilités

• Confirm patient’s identity and evaluate ability to understand and comply with exam requirements.
• Explain and confirm patient prep (e.g., diet restrictions, preparatory medications) prior to radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations.
• Examine radiographic requisition to verify accuracy and completeness of information.
• Sequence imaging procedures to avoid residual contrast material affecting future exams.
• Maintain patient safety, comfort and modesty; communicate delays to patients.
• Assist with contrast administration safety and post-procedure instructions.
• Document required information in patient records and ensure quality of exams.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to radiology department policies.
