Radiology Tech Operating Room at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth

· Performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth Outpatient Center.

· Under minimal supervision, performs basic to complex Operating Room diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician.

· Provides technical support for interventional radiographic examinations.

· Completes established competencies for the position.

· Operates imaging equipment, C‑Arms, O‑Arms, prepares examination rooms, and maintains equipment, supplies, and medications.

· Produces high quality diagnostic radiographs throughout the patient care areas to include but not limited to: OR, Urography, open reductions, myelography, arthrography, and placements.

· Assists practitioner with fluoroscopy, arthrography, and OR procedures.

· Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed.

· Performs all Quality control checks, as prescribed.

· Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.

· Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.

· Investigates promptly and follows up on unusual incidents and communicates with Manager/Director.

· Takes department call as assigned.

Qualifications
Education

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Graduate of AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology

· Graduate of a 2‑year accredited school of Radiology Technology

Licensure/Certification

· Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate

· Current & Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) General License

· Current BLS certification ****

Required Experience

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience specific to surgical/diagnostic radiological exams

· Experience using C‑Arms in an Operating room

· Must possess independent decision‑making skills

· Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects

· Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families

· Must be able to communicate verbally and non‑verbally in a professional way

· Ability to utilize the Electronic Health Record for patient documentation
