Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas in Irving, TX is hiring a Full Time Radiology Technologist for OR imaging. The OR Radiology Tech operates X-ray and C-ARMS, prepares rooms, and ensures radiation safety while supporting surgical teams.

Requirements include AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, ARRT certification, BLS, and 2–5 years of surgical radiology experience, with orthopedics and spine experience preferred. Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Current ARRT Certificate and BLS certification.
  • 2–5 years’ surgical radiology experience; ortho/spine preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate X-ray equipment and C-ARMS in the OR and prepare the room.
  • Provide imaging services and ensure radiation safety per procedure.
  • Perform QC checks and maintain logs; document deviations.
  • Assist surgical team with imaging needs and patient positioning.
  • Take emergency call as assigned and ensure aseptic technique.

Radiology Tech Operating Room at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas

Performs quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner in surgery for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology
License
  • Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate
  • Current BLS certification
Required Experience
  • Two to five years’ experience specific to surgical radiological exam
  • Ortho and Spine experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrates responsibility for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients
  • Demonstrates ability to assess data, prioritize care, and plan interventions dependent on the age group of the population served.
  • Demonstrates ability to discuss treatment/service and to provide education information to patients/families in age group served
  • Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Record for patient documentation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • The OR Radiology Technician operates X-ray equipment, C-ARMS and prepares patient’s room, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provides patient services using imaging modalities.
  • Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams preformed.
  • Performs all Quality control checks, as prescribed.
  • Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
  • Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination: documents and deviation
  • Practices surgical aseptic procedures
  • Investigates promptly and follows up on unusual incidents and communicates with Direct
  • Takes emergency call as assigned
