Job summary

UChicago Medicine in Hyde Park, IL is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging and ensure patient safety and quality imaging. You will review orders, select exposure factors, and maintain patient care with HIPAA compliance in a 100% onsite role.

Essential duties include handling contrast media preparation, image review, and proper protocol adherence. This role requires ARRT certification within a year, IEMA licensure, and rotating on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related medical field or equivalent experience.
• Completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA approved program.
• Certified by ARRT within one year of hire date.
• Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
• Demonstrates proficiency in performing diagnostic imaging.
• Maintains continuing education as mandated by ARRT.
• Strong verbal, written and analytical skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician's order to assure appropriateness of examination.
• Selects exposure factors based on body part, pathology, patient age, and equipment characteristics.
• Reviews images for positioning, technique and identification.
• Performs diagnostic imaging studies with quality and proper protocol.
• Prepares contrast media and assists in GI/GU studies.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and professional confidentiality.
• Interfaces with patients, staff, and visitors professionally using AIDET.
• Maintains radiology information system data and assists training of new staff.
• Rotating on-call, weekends and holidays are required.
