Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Computerized Tomography Scanner Technologist (CT) for the Radiology Department. This 100% onsite role in Hyde Park offers advanced imaging opportunities, patient care, and participation in research studies and clinical trials. Eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.

Must be based in the greater Chicagoland area. The position requires ARRT registry, Illinois licensure, CPR/BLS, and Advanced CT certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology technology training in an AMA approved school.
• Current registry by ARRT.
• Advanced CT certification required within 12 months of hire date.
• Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA).
• CPR and BLS training required.
• Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required.
• Available for weekends, holidays, and rotating on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging duties as assigned.
• Performs computed tomography procedures according to set protocols established by radiologists.
• Evaluates the request for procedures and assesses the patient to determine the appropriate procedure protocol and method of application.
• Appropriately employs imaging systems, accessory devices, and patient positioning techniques to generate quality images.
• Cares for the patient throughout the procedure according to department and hospital standards of patient care and age-specific sensitivities.
